The incident happened on Monday, May 13 just before 10 p.m., when a woman was injured after being struck by a car in Yonkers in the area of 453 McLean Ave., according to Yonkers Police Detective Sergeant Frank DiDomizio.
Arriving police soon began an investigation and discovered there had been an underlying dispute at that location that had resulted in an alleged assault.
A 34-year-old man, whose name was not released, was then arrested and charged with second-degree assault after authorities discovered he had allegedly punched the woman in the face several times, DiDomizio said.
The woman was later hospitalized in stable condition.
The investigation into the assault is still ongoing, according to DiDomizio.
